What it's for
A Property Type (e.g. "Material") is assigned to a product with a specific value (e.g. "Cotton"). It shows up as informational spec text on the product; it does not create separate purchasable variants.
Help
Property Types are reusable descriptive fields for a product's specs, like Material or Brand.

Create a Property Type named "Material", then on a shirt product set its Material property to "Cotton". Every shirt using that property can show its own material value.
Properties describe one product; they don't generate variants. If customers need to choose between versions of a product (like Size or Color), use an Option Type instead.
